Good news for Internet users! We know that running your business is your first priority, so we’re working hard to make business banking more convenient.

There are many features and qualities that establish Bank of Illinois as the leader of the Internet financial services industry.

Components of our comprehensive Internet banking services which we will cover today include:

State-of-the-art Security

Internet Banking

Retail Features

Commercial/Cash Management

Security - Internet Transactions & Connectivity
SSL Encryption

When a customer/member requests a financial transaction page off the institution’s web site (account inquiries, bill-pay, statements, applications), a “secure session” is invoked using the SSL protocol (secured socket layer). This provides for both domestic-grade and international-grade encryption of all communications between the user’s PC and the Bank of Illinois Data Center. If the user’s browser employees less than 64-bit encryption, then the Bank of Illinois system generates a warning suggestion they should upgrade their Internet browser for increased security.

Digital Signature Authentication

Bank of Illinois has a Digital Signature attached to our data transmission, which is certified by a third party, to provide for data authentication. This process ensures that communications originate from Bank of Illinois and that they message was not modified during the transmission between the two endpoints.

When it comes to your money, we know that security is the number one issue.

We take an extra measure of protection by utilizing high-end firewalls and exclusive encryption software to prevent outside interference. It’s like having a bank vault available anywhere, anytime.

Security - Institution Transactions/Message Communications
Encrypted E-mail

Daily account information is transmitted to the Bank of Illinois Data Center using up to 1024-bit PGP (RSA Public/Private Key) encryption from a PC at the institution’s location.

Dedicated Connections & DES Encryption

Transactions, such as bill-pay debits and funds transfers, are forwarded to institutions via private dedicated communications links and through ATM networks using industry standard DES encryption.

Errors and Omissions Insurance Coverage

Additionally, Bank of Illinois has purchased Errors and Omissions insurance coverage to provide protection against claims resulting from a wrongful act performed by Bank of Illinois.

Commercial/Cash Management Features
ACH Origination

Automated Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic processing, settlement and delivery system operated by the Federal Reserve, as well as other privately operated clearing facilities.

Approved customers/members are able to build ACH transactions for various purposes including direct deposits, cash concentrations or inter-bank transfers. Some of the features that set our ACH service apart include:
ACH integration into your profile

Unique risk management capabilities to
    provide customized security

No software distribution required

No warehousing software required

Automatic settlement entries

Bill Presentment with ACH

If the ABA and account number match an existing Bank of Illinois customer, then that customer will receive a notification that there exists a pending ACH payment, citing the merchant name that has been delivered to their payment system.

The Bank of Illinois system will maintain the ACH warehouse for all these transactions and record any modifications prior to the settlement date (two days before the effective date). At that time, the encrypted file is sent by Bank of Illinois to the financial institution to upload into their ACH system.

This convenient, secure payment vehicle streamlines processes, saves time, money, stamps, checks and envelopes.

Bill Presentment provides the option to pay your outstanding balance via an ACH debit. At the time the NACHA file is uploaded to the Bank of Illinois system, you are notified of the billing via an electronic statement in email.

Interbank Transfers

Four levels of security are enacted on our system to enable worry-free transactions.

Reduce paperwork and conduct transfers from your desk, at home or on the road.

Interbank transfers allow you to debit and credit all internal accounts for which you have signature authority.

Cash Concentrations

Corporate electronic payment process used in business to business and intra-company transfers of funds.

Minimize paperwork and simplify processes.

You benefit by making a single invoice payment to suppliers. Funds are cleared on an overnight basis in accordance with the NACHA standard payment format.

Ideal for businesses seeking to consolidate their accounting functions or any company with recurring receivables such as monthly dues, memberships or flat fees.

Cash concentration can be offered through the use of the Bank of Illinois ACH application.

Once authorized by your financial institution, you can be setup to originate both debit and credit ACH batches. This allows you to virtually debit and credit accounts at any financial institution.

Item Imports/Exports

Manage large ACH files locally on a spreadsheet and then upload into a batch.

This feature reduces errors and saves valuable time by eliminating the need to re-key data.

Additionally, you have the ability to search and sort ACH history, an important audit tool.

Import files into the ACH application or export tab-delimited files from the ACH file into a spreadsheets such as Excel or Lotus 1-2-3.

Imaging Interface & Access

Don’t ever wait for a copy of a cleared check again!

Your accountant or CPA can immediately view any cleared check or deposit over the Internet.

No need to wait for researching microfiche to find a copy of your check. Internet check imaging improves your response time and service while saving on paperwork and processing costs.

Access images of checks and deposits over the Internet.

When you view your account history, you can click on a check number or deposit. The Bank of Illinois system will transmit a secure request for the image to your Financial Institution's image server either over the Internet or across a direct data line.

The image server then transmits the front and back image to the Bank of Illinois system for display in your browser.

EFTPS Origination

Pay taxes easily by scheduling and initiating ACH Credits for tax payments.

This convenience saves you time by offering a list of preformatted templates which automatically convert information to the required format.

Schedule and initiate an “ACH CREDIT” for different types of tax payments (the most common being 941 payroll tax deposits) directly to the appropriate Treasury Financial Agent’s (TFA) ABA number using the EFTPS account identification.

The Bank of Illinois system will create the ACH credit to the US Treasury, together with an ACH debit to your account.

Wire Transfer Origination

System supports daily limit security as well as automates repetitive transfers.

Additionally, it allows incoming wire reports via our secure messaging system.

Reduce paperwork and conduct wire transfers from your desk!

Financial institutions are provided the ability to authorize specific customers and their employees to originate, verify and transmit wire transfer requests to the institution for import into Fedline.

The system supports dual control and daily limit security as well as repetitive transfers.

Additionally, it allows the financial institution to report incoming wires to the customer via the Bank of Illinois messaging system.

Track Repurchase Agreements

This sophisticated management accounting capability allows you to make interest on your commercial accounts.

This typically complicated service becomes easy for you to manage and allows you to increase revenues with Internet banking.

Our system provides daily automated investment of any excess collected funds in your commercial account and manages the daily paperwork needed to determine your interest in the subordinated security.

This funds management accounting capability allows Financial Institutions to legally pay interest on commercial accounts with sweeps to repurchase agreements.

It manages the daily paperwork needed to determine the customer’s undivided interest in the subordinated security. It also credits the customer’s account for the daily interest earned.
